Christmas Eve Snow Nozawa
Christmas Eve has arrived and with it, a fresh falling of new snow! 🎅🏼
Unfortunately, both Nagasaka and Hikage Gondolas are on wind hold currently. Check back here for updates and we’ll let you know if the mountain is able to open today as soon as we can! But at this stage looks unlikely.
Nozawa Onsen may look like a small village but there are so many things to see and explore if you can’t get out skiing today… For example, there are all the restaurants and coffee shops in the village, where you can while away the hours eating delicious cuisine and sipping on hot cocoa. There’s the bouldering wall at The Dojo. The array of Onsens and Sparena to visit to soak heat back into your bones. You could explore the konbini (supermarkets), find some new ingredients and create a Japanese dish at your current accomodation. Also some great novelty shops like the stationary/toy store, ski stores and souvenir stores. Can also visit the Ski Musuem and the local Shrines.
Here is a great list of Things to do when not Skiing in Nozawa; https://www.nozawaholidays.com/accommodation-nozawa-onsen/nozawa-do-not-skiing/
