The Brueys at Tangram
If looking for a ski change from Nozawa Onsen one season then the resorts of Tangram and Madarao are the next closest resorts to Nozawa about a 40 minute drive away. Tangram Ski Circus and Madarao Ski resort are combined giving you some good ski terrain to explore. The resort also scores an amazing mount of snow which stays fresh with less people and a Northerly aspect.
Stats on Tangram;
Highest Elevation – 1320m with a vertical drop of 520m
Lifts – 2 Quads and 3 pairs total of 5 Lifts
Skill level; Beginner – 30%, Intermediate – 30%, Advanced 30%
Number of Courses; 14 with some great off piste too and Patrol are fairly lax as long as you know what you are doing
Longest Course; 2500m , Steepest Course 35 degrees

The Brueys at Tangram
A new and exciting Ski Lodge has just recently opened at the foot of the Tangram Ski Circus Resort. The Brain child of the lovely Kate and Adam – The Brueys at Tangram is sure to become popular with skiers and boarders of all ages and levels. Just a 5 minute walk to the lifts with in-house restaurant, spacious living areas and beautifully renovated rooms.
All rooms have their own bathrooms which is rare and set ups to suit families, couples or groups of friends.

Getting to The Brueys Lodge
If you’re coming from either airport or Tokyo, you have two options —> (if driving we can also help guests with directions and have complimentary parking).

- Take the Shinkansen (Hakutaka) from Tokyo station to Iiyama. You can grab a taxi for about 8,500 JPY at Iiyama station to The Brueys or we can organize a shuttle with The Brueys in advance for 5,500 JPY.
- Take the Shinkansen (any) from Tokyo station to Nagano. You can transfer to the local train in Nagano and ride to Myoko station. You can either take a taxi for about 3,500-4,000 JPY or we can come pick you up at the station for 3,000 JPY. We would need to organize in advance.
The Sake Suite
It sleeps up to 2 Adults and 2 Children. Just a 4 minute walk to the lifts and lots of restaurants nearby. It is a fantastic option if looking to stay at Madarao Ski Resort.

FOOD AND DRINK:
- We have a FANTASTIC onsite restaurant and bar in our lodge which is awesome and we will be super busy every night! We have a chef who has worked in multiple michelin star restaurants and will have a full cocktail menu. Will be super fun at The Brueys nightly, that’s for sure!
- We also have 4 other restaurants in our town which are really great (Yaki Niku, Sushi, Izakaya style).
- We can also offer a shuttle service (small fee) to shuttle them to Madarao (10 mins drive) as there are some amazing restaurants over there (Izakaya, Italian, Burgers, Hot Pot).
- We would need to ensure we book in ahead of time into any option they would choose + book our shuttle.
- To be honest, you will probably want to eat with us most nights- our chef is INCREDIBLE!
