Still working into their 90’s in Nozawa
Today we witness a mixture of clouds and sunshine, with a little drizzle in the morning. Gladly on the top there’s a little snow cover as we can see on the trees. The gondola is running so head up if you’re keen!
🍱 Lots of new seasonal staff coming in to Nozawa this season. Welcome to everyone, remember to respect the local community and all their history and customs. Here are two long term hospitality working locals. The Saito family have been running Akibitei Okonomiyaki Restaurant in Nozawa for decades now and not much has changed there since I first went in the early 90s. Even the staff remained the same with Mum and Dad aged 94 and 92 respectively still working hard serving up some amazing food and great times. Pretty impressive, be sure to check it out and say a big Arigatou to them when visiting Nozawa.
There are many great restaurant in town, hard to pick one, se we came up with a guide you can easily choose from:

☃️SNOW FORECAST
As said this week is a bit of a mixture of everything. Warms up from tomorrow into the weekend when we could get some more rain. The good news is the snowfall from Sunday on just keeps building! The Japan Meteorological Agency or JMA has announced a heavy snow warning for most of the western coast and mountains of Japan. At this stage it is set to continue for a whole week and temperatures are gong to be cold! Maybe stay in the Onsen and try some restaurants for Friday and Saturday and get ready for the big snow dumps ahead.
