Snowy Day and Big Night ahead for Nozawa with the Fire Festival
As forecast the snow is falling nicely this morning in Nozawa quite a contrast to yesterday’s beautiful blue skies. Conditions have taken a turn with heavy snowfalls, winds increasing up to around 50km/h and temperatures dropping down to -10 degrees. 19:00 Bring the fire to the fire festival arena.
19:30 Towers representing the new births arrive
20;00 Fireworks and the Dosojin drummers
20;30 Fire begins with the kids and dignitaries kicking it off
20;50 Adults attack the Tower with burning sticks
22;00 The Tower is set alight

🌄RUNS OPEN: With Skyline opened yesterday most of the resort is now fully opened except for Karasawa area at this stage and the feeders to it.
☃️ SNOW FORECAST:
Stepping into the second half of January with heavy snowfall for Monday and Tuesday ahead of some Sun on Wednesday. The winds will increase and temperatures will drop over the next 2 days so wrap up tight and be prepared for some deep powder on the mountains today and Tuesday morning. Keep in mind the visibility might be poor, stay safe and cautious on the slopes. Majority of the resort is now open including the most anticipated Skyline.
