A March to remember in Nozawa
A March to remember in Nozawa
Locals often say some years when we don’t get so much snow in January and February then March goes into overdrive. That has certainly been the case this year with many that have been here since early December calling yesterday as good as it gets. We were still getting fresh lines at 3pm yesterday afternoon. The mountain actually got another 20cm during the day on top of the 45cm we had overnight. On February 21st we had only a 160cm base and things were looking grim for March. Yesterday we hit 295cm base almost double that of just over 3 weeks ago! Today is going to be amazing too, the sun is finally out, the snow remains and it is still nice and cold early. If keen to hit some left over powder stashes grab your brew and powder planks and get up there as soon as you can. For all those parents with kids here finally some sunshine for the kids to enjoy.

❄️ SNOW FORECAST:
Soak up that sun finally we haven’t seen it much in March. It is going to warm up over the next few days and to be honest kind of looking forward to it. Winds are staying moderate and with all that fresh snow of the past few days the skiing up top especially will be fantastic. If you like your powder then it is not over yet. Monday on we are back in Winter mode by the looks and we could see up to another 40cm or more over the week, peaking on Wednesday. Will we crack the 3 meter base mark? I doubt it given the coming spring days but we sure did get close.
