Finally T-Shirt weather in Nozawa
Yesterday was the first day since about October that I was comfortable to wear a T-Shirt in town. Have seen a few other crazy people bearing their arms earlier in the season but yesterday was a beautiful sunny day. Great day to clean the snow off the solar panels and get them to work. On the hill was also awesome especially early the snow up top was beautiful with views to match. Naturally it got slushy later but a fun day was had by all. Today should be more of the same. Fairly busy weekend with the Top to Bottom race happening tomorrow. It is probably the last busy weekend of the season. Monday on will be dead quiet and there are some serious snow numbers starting to stack up for the week ahead.

Lots of sunshine and clear skies today with 0℃ at top of the mountain and around 10℃ down in the village. Spring is slowly starting to creep in and temps are on the rise this weekend. Despite the warm front we’re still looking at a bit of a cool down for the whole of next week which could be the last one for this season. We should expect a bit of snow from Sunday night onto Monday and a big dump incoming for Wednesday and Thursday covering Mt. Kenashi’s slopes once again in that fresh white powder to celebrate the coming end of the season!
Tomorrow the 17th of March Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort is announcing a Ski Kid’s Day! Head over to Nagasaka ticket office and grab a free lift ticket for your child!
Also, check out the good news about the new bullet train extension coming into service. The line now connects Tokyo and Tsuruga in Fukui Prefecture.
