Spring Slush Nozawa Japan

Beautiful spring day on the slopes yesterday in Nozawa. It was warm and sunny, almost too warm at 18 degrees up top but as was sliding down the slopes in a t-shirt was not complaining. The snow was fast and fun in the morning with all the intermediate runs and the park open up at Yamabiko. A few people filtering into town for the Golden week holiday but still very quiet up top and no need to line up at all. Basking in the sunshine, enjoying the last week of the season, then live music on the Main Street last night with an Onsen and dinner at our favourite restaurant. Spring in Nozawa is definitely a time worth savouring.

Today looks like more of the same, a little cooler this morning but the sun is out again and should stay fairly clear all weekend. Yamabiko B course is closed today for a Salomon Race day but Uenotara and Paradise are open. Think it may be the last day for Paradise run so shoot up and have your last lunch in the sunshine at Buna for the season.

Snow report

With these warmer temps the snow conditions are best early after being groomed nicely overnight the piste is fast and fun. All that snow in March has been a great help in keeping things alive.

Getting a lot of enquiry for next season and as usual 80% is for January. Things are filling up for the peak so try and think outside the square and come at a different time. March was the clear winner this season so consider taking the kids out of school and teaching them some Japanese.
