Spring Skiing with Clear Skies
Spring Skiing with Clear Skies
Nozawa Onsen awoke to yet another beautiful, sunny day with hardly a cloud in the sky. Those that go up for the second to last day of the season are sure to be greeted with stunning views and agreeable temperatures. While the season is winding down to an end, there’s still time to get some spring runs in. Yesterday, conditions were sunny and slushy but the slopes were lively with Golden Week visitors. The snow park on Yamabiko remains a fun way to switch things up!
The last two days have marked the beginning of the weekend morning market in downtown Nozawa, with local businesses and farmers lining up booths on Oyu road. Be sure to visit local businesses and check out Golden Week specials, such as Compass’ Shakes and the Yama Juice Shop up on the Mt. Kenashi summit.

Snow report ❄️
Who’d have thought there’s so much fun left up there at the start of May with Spring well into its warming charms. Marking the last days with Mt. Kenashi’s runs filled with people making it one of the busiest days on the mountain since this season’s first snow has set on the mountain. Today will be very warm with nearly 30 degrees down town, 17℃ at Yamabiko and light breeze coming from the south. Be sure to grab your sunnies and put some sunscreen on before heading up! The weatherman says the start of the coming week we’ll see a big change in the skies with clouds, rains and temperature dropping noticeably. Stay safe and enjoy the last day of the Golden Week with Nozawa Onsen!
