When you come to Nozawa, we highly recommend you try the Stamp Trail as a great way to get acquainted with the area and earn a memorable souvenir! Start by visiting the Nozawa Onsen Tourist Information Center to purchase a stamp booklet for ¥462. Then, explore the village and collect stamps from 27 unique commemorative places around the village.

 

 

After collecting 10 stamps, you can redeem a special Nozawa onsen towel featuring the “Yu” design by renowned avant-garde artist Taro Okamoto. Collecting 20 stamps allows you to choose between the onsen towel and a tenugui—a traditional Japanese cotton cloth used as a hand towel, gift wrap, or decorative item. The Nozawa Onsen tenugui showcases designs related to local goods and events. If you collect all 27 stamps, you can redeem a high five from our staff 🙂
