The new Terminal 3 Low Cost Carrier terminal at Narita airport opened in April this year. Jetstar, Vanilla Air and a few other airlines use the terminal so many coming from Australia to ski this coming winter will probably get to check it out.
It was built at half the price of a normal terminal and given a bit of a running track theme in line with the 2020 Olympics being hosted in Tokyo.
I have been thru a few times and found it all worked pretty well. Only major downside is it is about 500m walk to Terminal 2 where the train leaves from and you need to go to take the Snow Shuttle up to Nozawa which you can book here https://www.nozawaholidays.com/shuttle-bus/
There is a free shuttle bus by the looks but figure by the time you wait and get on and off you will have walked there and it wont be so hot in the Winter months!

It also has a 24 Hour Food court…
