Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 7th April 2017
Sunshine on a cloudy day in Nozawa. Great views across to Togari Onsen
Base at top: 350 cm
Temp at Top: 8 Degrees
Base at Uenotaira station: 250 cm
New snow since close: 0cm
Weather: Sun is now out after some rain and warming up
Sorry for the late update folks just enjoying the warmth of spring. Writing this from the deck in a T-shirt staring across to nearby Togari Onsen Resort with the sun on my face. As forecast we got a watering down with the rain last night and into this morning and heavy at times. But it didn’t hang around too long and the sun was out before lunchtime today.
The base got hit a bit but still 350cm up top and even Hikage bowl has 135 cm at the bottom of the resort. We had the Gondola on wind hold for a good part of the day yesterday but the Yamabiko chairs were still rolling so a few lucky souls who were marooned up there had it to themselves.
Today Uenotaira 4 lift was also placed on hold but they were running the few skiers on the mountain back up on the skidoo. Skyline course was also reopened today and we were just looping that back to the Nagasaka Gondola and the 6km long run was a good workout on the legs.
