Spring Snow for Nozawa Onsen

Weather: Overcast Snow clearing to Sunshine

Base at Uenotara station: 90cm
New snow since close: 5 cm
Nice surprise on the doorstep this morning with a light dusting of snow down in the village. Always great to see in April. Should be a bit more up top as it snowed most of the afternoon up there too. Wasn’t exactly Nozawa Powder but was still the white stuff and for some of the people visiting at the moment that have never seen snow it was very exciting.
The forecast was for light snow to continue this morning but the sun is out now and looking like a beautiful day ahead. Temps should stay pretty low up top all day so the snow conditions should stay pretty good up top.
Still top to bottom skiing available on the home trail and the left side steeps but it is getting marginal. Looking ahead should start to warm up again from tomorrow so get up there today and enjoy a quick reboot to winter in Nozawa.
