Bluebird happiness Marches into Nozawa
Wow what a day on the mountain yesterday, all that fresh snow and then the sunshine made for a perfect blue bird day in Nozawa. Temps remained cold up top most of the day and the snow quality was terrific. The powder was amazing all morning before getting a bit of that Spring funk later and the few people about made the most of it. The slopes were good all day and the views were breathe taking with super clear blue skies and thin clouds revealing the peaks.
Much warmer start this morning with the mercury at 7 degrees already so will definitely be more spring like today. We still skied top to bottom yesterday down the Hikage side but the lower lifts closed on Monday for the season. They normally do close the last weekend of March so is a week earlier this year and it was getting pretty marginal towards the bottom so great they managed to hold on as long as they did.
