Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 1st of January 2021

The snow show continues in Nozawa into 2021 with another Magic Foot of snow since this time yesterday and the snow tap turned firmly on this morning in Nozawa with heavy snow fall. Actually many parts of Japan are getting blanketed by buckets of snow to bring in the New Year.

Temp at the top; -10 degrees

New snow since close; 20 cm

Base at the top; 250 cm

Snow conditions; Snowing heavy will be deep so stay safe

Siberian storm like conditions take it easy out there

The base has hit 250cm this morning and would not surprise me if we push thru 300cm in the next few days. It was pretty windy on the slopes yesterday with lots of fresh snow. It actually didn’t snow as much as expected during the day but seems to be making up for it this morning. The powder is going to be deep again today! There were quite a few people getting stuck in the trees yesterday so take it very easy out there today.

The snow will ease a little this afternoon but set to continue until Monday when we should see some Sunshine. Amazing winter conditions and a big start to the year on the snow front in Nozawa. 2020 has been a bit of a wild ride for all. We would sincerely like to thank everyone for your continued support over this difficult time. Wishing you all the very best for 2021 and we look forward to seeing you in Nozawa again soon.
