Average Snowfall Nozawa Japan
Snowfall for the history books in Nozawa!
There you have it we are having the biggest snow season for at least 10 Years. We totalled 120cm yesterday and another lazy 40cm overnight. The total for this storm now over 2 meters but I am starting to lose count. Base now at 475cm this morning so exceeding the 2014/15 season peak. Forget about cars getting buried, some buildings are starting to disappear.
The Weather Bureau of Japan has Nozawa sitting at Number 1 for most snowfall over the day yesterday in all of Japan. It is also the most snowfall for the start of February in history they are saying. Temps at -11 degrees up top and if you like your powder snow it is going to be deep out there today. As said yesterday please be very careful and it will probably be too deep in many places. Best to stay on the slopes and it will still be waist deep on the sides anyway 🙂 Take it easy on the roads too as there will be a massive clean up job ahead.
The good news it is still snowing but even better is it looks like starting to clear down in the valley and it should ease soon. Thankfully no major dumps on the radar for the rest of the week and conditions are going to be off the chart literally. If you can sneak out of work this is the week to do it.
Positive news for Global Warming that we can still have these amazing snow seasons. Let’s all do our bit to “Cool the Globe” maybe it is not too late. If suffering from FOMO and want to get up this season or next jump on the site for a quote ; https://www.nozawaholidays.com/bookings/ or email the girls at team@nozawaholidays.com
You deserve some of this amazing snow. Stay safe out there everyone and don’t forget the snorkel. Thanks Hugo san for the photos 🙏
