Japan Ski Cherry Blossoms
Bang on 3 meters of base up top to round out March 2022 in Nozawa
Will need to look at the record books, but that has to be a bit of a record for base at the end of March in Nozawa. This day last year we had only 185cm up at Yamabiko. At the base this season we have seen over 11 meters of snow fall and imagine is a lot higher number up top. The guys cutting the road at the bottom of Nagasaka Gondola the other day had a bigger job than usual this year.
Japan Ski Cherry Blossoms
Yesterday was a glorious sunny day on the slopes with plenty of sunshine but not many people about. Still top to bottom runs to be had and the snow was fun. Today is a bit of a fog fest up top in comparison and not great visibility. Temps are at 3 degrees above but set to drop tonight and we may even see a bit of snow. Could see between 5-10cm up top if lucky and tomorrow is forecast to be a full winters day with temps getting well into the minus zone. This weekend is looking good with Sunshine and light winds on the menu so if you can get up come on as will be a fun weekend. Plenty of availability too so email team@nozawaholidays.com or call 05055326026 to book.
The Cherry Blossoms or Sakura are also in Full bloom right now in Tokyo the nations Capital. Pretty amazing spectacle to see and appreciate the fleeting beauty of this symbolic flower. Another great reason to visit Japan in Spring as can ski and enjoy the Cherry Blossoms in one trip. If looking to come up next year January is filling pretty quick so if you are not a powder hound it is well worth considering later in the season especially if have kids. Wont be long until we see them in our region check out more on the Sakura here; https://www.nozawaholidays.com/news/best-place-cherry-blossom-nozawa-onsen/
