Ryokan Sakaya is one of the most authentic and longest running Ryokans in Nozawa. It is an up-market yet traditional style accommodation in Nozawa Onsen. You will experience great Japanese service and atmosphere. The Ryokan has been running for an amazing 18 generations and is now cared for the charismatic Akira san and family. They also have newly renovated 3 bedroom self-contained apartments nearby called Hanare Jonnobi.
Ryokan is located just above the iconic onsen, Oyu on the main street and 3 bedroom apartments located just in front of Oyu onsen. Great central location for skiing and to enjoy the atmosphere of this beautiful village of Nozawa Onsen. It is easy access to the moving walk way “Yu- road” to the snow on the Hikage slopes.

Apartments “Hanare Jonnobi”
Just recently built these 3 bedroom self-contained apartments of “Hanare Jonnobi”are an amazing place to stay in the heart of Nozawa Onsen. They are fully furnished, full-equipped kitchen can accommodate 6 to 8people. Bedrooms are all with 2 single beds and loft for extra futons. Ski storage and drying area are inside each apartment. There is co-ed outside onsen attached and you can use onsens at the Sakya Ryokan building as well.
They have a restaurant in the property and you are also on the doorstop of all the great restaurants, cafes and bars Nozawa has to offer.

You can go straight to your accommodation as they are expecting you. Please come to our nearest office for your check-in, town orientation, lift passes and any other enquires.
Check-in: 3pm – 7pm
Early check-ins: You are more than welcome to leave your luggage (including ski and snowboard bags) with us until you are able to check-in.
Late check-ins: Let us know if you plan to arrive after 7pm and we will leave your room numbers and any required information at the reception for that evening.
Check-out: 11am
Luggage Transfer
You can transfer your luggage from / to wherever you like in Japan. You can send your luggage to your accommodation directly.To send them there please write your booking names and your check-in date and we will take care of your luggage until you arrive.

Cash in Nozawa Onsen
Japan is predominantly a cash society, and it can be difficult to find places that accept cards as payment. Please ensure that you bring enough cash in Yen with you. You can exchange money at the airport bank, or before you leave home.
There are two ATMs in Nozawa Onsen. One is located next to the Tourist Information Office which accepts most bank cards. The other ATM is located just inside the Post Office glass sliding door, which is open until 6pm each evening.
