Runners tackled the long-distance 27km, short-distance 12km, and the fun 1km race for kids, all while traversing the stunning mountainous landscapes and lush green forests of Nozawa Onsen. With altitudes reaching 1400m, participants were treated to breathtaking views, and those on the long course passed by the stunning “Kosuge” shrine. After the race, everyone enjoyed the serene nature, rejuvenating hot springs, and the traditional charm of Nozawa Onsen village. With many visitors paying a visit to our primates in Yudanaka National Park during the cold season, not as many come to see the park turn green with nature bursting with life. Spring Slush Nozawa Japan Celebrating the Spring Slush in Nozawa Beautiful spring day on the slopes yesterday in Nozawa. It was warm and sunny, almost too warm at 18 degrees up top but as was sliding down the slopes in a t-shirt was not complaining. The snow was fast and fun in the morning with all the intermediate runs and the park open up at Yamabiko. A few people filtering into town for the Golden week holiday but still very quiet up top and no need to line up at all. Basking in the sunshine, enjoying the last week of the season, then live music on the Main Street last night with an Onsen and dinner at our favourite restaurant. […]
