Valley Green, Mountain White in Nozawa
Awesome Spring day for the first day of April here in Nozawa. Plenty of Sunshine and nice warm temps. The day actually started fairly cool but has warmed up under the sun. We are at that part of the season where it can feel like Green Season in town and the Valley but still a winter sports buzz up high. Up top at Yamabiko yesterday was lots of fun especially in the two natural half pipes from the top chair. Now it is mainly a top mountain game, there was also a few people up there. Plenty of locals taking advantage of the conditions and the free lifts day for them.

April Ski Specials Japan
April is a great time to be in Japan as you can check out the famous Cherry Blossoms and also enjoy some Spring Skiing. All reports showing the Sakura were early this year in Japan. Global warming or just a seasonal shift? Not sure. The blossoms need cold then warm to bloom. We had really cold temps in December and January and then warm temps in March so this may have caused the early showing.
Looking ahead and more of the same conditions over the next 3 days with Sunshine and light winds should be a fun and pretty quiet Easter Weekend in Nozawa most likely.
