Last Minute Booking Nozawa
Snowy Winters day in Nozawa
Almost the “Magic Foot” of fresh snow overnight for Nozawa and has probably got to 30cm by the time I finish typing this with huge flakes dropping from the sky right now in the village.
The snow started just when I was heading to the onsen at about 9pm last night but heavier this morning. Great to see real winter conditions back in town and they look set to continue for a while now.
Being the weekend should be a few people around but plenty of fresh tracks up for grabs. Gondola opens soon so get up there and have an awesome day
Todays Japanese word is “Yuki” which means Snow. Quite the contrast to yesterday.
🌄TODAY:
Temperature at the top; -7 degrees
New snow since yesterday; 25cm
Base at the top; 170cm
Snow conditions; Powder day with hopefully enough to cover any hard pack of the last few days.
Weather; North west winds at about 25 km/h so not too bad. Still snowing heavy and should continue snowing but ease through the day
🚡LIFTS IN OPERATION:
All lifts apart from the Karasawa Double and Challenge Double are open.
🌄RUNS OPEN: Same as yesterday
☃️SNOW FORECAST:
Tomorrow should be cold and cloudy so preserving this latest dump nicely. Next snow expected Monday night with the big numbers dropping from Tuesday and should see over 50cm fall so another nice top up.
Some good news for anyone looking at coming from Australia. ANA Airways will increase capacity to Tokyo from Sydney from tomorrow. Going twice daily from March 26th and also recommence Perth to Tokyo from October 2023. Fantastic for anyone planning a trip up this season or next. Head to the site to book; https://www.nozawaholidays.com/bookings/
We still have some good availability and the season is shaping up nicely so hope to see you on the slopes soon.
