Long Weekend Ski Japan
One of the busiest days of the Season in Nozawa
The February long weekend has traditionally been a big one for Japanese ski resorts. Celebrating National Foundation day and remembering all the efforts by our forebears from years gone by. Lots of folk up from Tokyo to ski and have a fun weekend in Nozawa. Lift lines were as long as have seen almost any day this season and we thank everyone that made the trip up. Was tricky to find a park sometimes 🙂
It was a bit of a mixed bag on the slopes, snowing lightly up top but the snow was almost slow going down low. The resort reporting 5cm of fresh overnight and temps around – 4 degrees up top but they were plus 4 degrees at the bottom. The base has also consolidated and ducked under the 4 meter mark to 390cm up at Yamabiko.
The lights are on at Nagasaka tonight for the night skiing and always fun if never tried it before. Should be a good buzz around town tonight too. Another busy morning tomorrow no doubt before everyone heads home just after lunchtime and the slopes will be pretty quiet next week. On the snow front nothing huge on the forecast at this stage just some consistent little top ups. Still plenty of clean up work for the locals on the roofs and streets after the recent dumps.

Have a great weekend and stay safe on and off the slopes.
