Some exciting news for anyone that loves Nozawa and wants to check out some other resorts in the area. Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort has teamed up with Madarao, Tangram and Togakushi Ski Resorts to offer a Season Pass you can use at any of the resorts for just 76,000 Yen. With 4 resorts thats a lot of turns and terrain to enjoy.

Madarao/Tangram
Madarao and Tangram are an easy one located just across the Valley from Nozawa and with public transport operating between the two resorts via Iiyama. If drive direct it just takes 30 Minutes and makes for a great day trip from Nozawa. Togakushi
Togakushi is an interesting add-on and a little resort I really like. As the crow flies it is not far from Nozawa but access by public transport is a bit tricky. You can get a bus from Nagano station but if have the means your own car is the best way to go and is quite a nice drive up. The resort only has a vertical of 548m so half that of Nozawa and 7 lifts in total so is limited but the views of the Alps are spectacular and being able to check out the amazing tall cedar trees near the resort a huge bonus. Then naturally for anyone based at the above resorts or in Iiyama or Tokyo you can make the most of Nozawa too. To buy the Season Pass just contact any of the above resorts if you are going to ski more than about 2 weeks it is worthwhile.
