Public Holiday Nozawa Japan
What a difference a day makes in Nozawa! This was yesterday
Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 8th of January 2021
Yesterday in Nozawa was glorious sunshine and today we wake up to over a “Magic Foot” of fresh powder! The base has jumped back up to 275cm and with light winds and super cold temps the snow is going to be sublime up on the slopes yesterday. Have to say we are in a purple patch for rhythm with conditions in Nozawa this season. Big dumps every few days and sunshine in between.
Temp at the top; -8 degrees
New snow since close; 40 cm
Base at the top; 275cm
Snow conditions; Deep Cold Powder!
Weather; Snowing and will continue all day
It is set to snow the next 3 days in Nozawa, but it will be interesting to see if we crack the 3 meter mark on the base. Either way with the freezing level flat lining at Sea level the powder is guaranteed to be light and fluffy. This weekend is a long one in Japan celebrating “Coming of Age” for the youth of the country. Coming of Age Day or “Seijin no Hi” welcomes new adults into society. In Japan, youth are officially considered adults at the age of 20. As an adult, they’re now allowed to drink, drive, smoke, and gamble legally. But hope most off them opt to go skiing this weekend instead, much healthier 🙂
Public Holiday Nozawa Japan
Have a great weekend everyone and still a few beds about town if keen to come up. Or even better next week because we expect sunshine and no one around.
Stay safe and happy Coming of age in the Powder of Nozawa!
