Base at top: 115 cm Temp at Top: -11 Degree Base at Uenotaira station: 90 cm New snow since close: 5cm Weather: Snowing Still snowing lightly in the village this morning and it snowed most of the day yesterday in Nozawa. Great conditions up top with about 10cm of fresh snow covering most of the runs all day and still very few crowds. Today is the official opening of the resort and a lot more lifts and runs are open today. Picture Perfect Nozawa Onsen! Base at top: 115 cm Temp at Top: -8 Degrees Base at Uenotaira station: 80 cm New snow since close: 5 cm Weather: Clearing skies at the moment but light snow expected later Yesterday we were gifted with plenty of snow during the day and falling lightly into the night, so there is a beautiful dusting of white all over the Nozawa Onsen village and fresh powder on the slopes! We are expecting more snow tonight which will continue into tomorrow, so if all goes well then the resort should be opening all the way down to Hikage on the weekend! Great start Nozawa season. Snowy Saturday morning in Nozawa, another magic foot overnight! Base at top: 75 cm Temp at Top: -5 Degrees Base at Uenotaira station: 60 cm New snow since close: 30cm Weather: Snowing! Was woken up by the sound of my neighbor scraping snow of his driveway this morning so figured we must have got some snow overnight. By the time I got out of the warmth of the futon the village was covered in a nice white blanket. Coming down pretty consistently now and should continue all weekend long and get a bit heavier into tomorrow. Temps are chilly with the freezing level down below the village.
