Tomyo Winter Night Festival in Nozawa tonight
Base at top: 185cm Temp at Top: 4 Degrees Base at Uenotaira: 125cm New Snow since close: 0 cm Weather: Sunny, mild winds and temperatures. Given the warmer temperatures and sun, the snowpack has held particularly well. We’ve lost some base since the last huge dump, though there are still some good runs to be had, particularly higher up. Lower down on the mountain things were getting a bit slushy but hopefully some cooler temps during the night have firmed the pistes up. The Yamabiko A course has reopened today so you might be able to score some fresher snow over that side of the mountain. Today’s looking like a fairly warm day. The sun is out and the mercury […]

With the sun out again today, it should be another beautiful spring day. Naski, the resort’s mascot was out for a slide again yesterday showing us all how it’s done and you might spot him out there again today. It’s probably best to get up the mountain early while the snow is best and to spend the afternoon having a rest, an […]
Bluebird day in Nozawa
Base at top: 190cm Temp at Top: -4 Degrees Base at Uenotaira: 145cm New Snow since close: 0 cm Weather: Sunny, mild winds and temperatures. Not a cloud in the sky here today. The forecast suggests that we may see some cloud forming with light snow flurries, though at this stage it’s looking like a bluebird for us. The pistes are still fantastic with plenty of fast and fresh snow. The powder seems to have become somewhat crusty lower down due to sun followed by cold temperatures overnight, though you’ll probably still have good chances up top of finding some powder. The last two days have been absolutely brilliant and we’re hoping that will carry on into today to make […]
