Base at top: 155 cm Temp at Top; -10 Degrees Base at Uenotaira 135 cm New Snow since close: 5 cm Weather: Light snow, mild winds After a nice lot of snow fell on Friday night, the weekend was set to be a good one. We were spoilt with light clouds and calm skies on Saturday, followed by blue skies all of Sunday. We had some great powder riding on Saturday morning with a few lesser known sections still untracked on Sunday. The low temperatures kept the snow fresh for the whole weekend. Clouds began forming above Nozawa overnight and now we’ve got light snow falling across the mountain. This should continue until the afternoon, keeping the […]

Yesterday we woke up to just over 20cm of fresh snow with the sun breaking through some of the clouds by nine in the morning. Our base is currently at 155cm, quite a bit less than usual for this time of year unfortunately, although there is still loads of fun to be had out there as you can see from the photo. We received a couple more centimetres early today just to refresh […]

However that was soon all eased after the snow started to fall heavily again in the afternoon and all night long. We received a few centimeters throughout the day yesterday and twenty centimetres since the closing of the lifts yesterday. There’s some good powder to be found up there! All the powderhounds’ boards are waiting in the line for the gondola, with everyone excited […]

It was just yesterday that the conditions were becoming a bit slushy so we’re glad to see that another lot of good snow is on the way. […]

There were fresh tracks to be found all day with a good lot of snow accumulating across the whole mountain. All the lifts were open, and there was a brief hour long period of sunshine in the middle of the day. This surprised us all but meant we could all make the most of some of the fresh morning powder. Snow started falling again in the afternoon, this time heavier and fluffier. We were expecting a lot more snow to come overnight but that was downgraded and we ended […]
