Just what we need after three fantastic bluebird days in a row. The past few days have been gorgeous. With plenty of fresh snow on piste to begin with from the previous dump, we had fresh and fast snow throughout the week with mild temperatures, no wind, and blue skies. What a dream! It was just yesterday that the conditions were becoming a bit slushy so we’re glad to see that another lot of good snow is on the way. […]

The skies cleared and left us with beautiful sunshine all afternoon. The blue skies are here once again today, with temperatures sitting at a warmer -6 degrees and winds being practically nonexistent. Dumping again today in Nozawa
Base at top: 140 cm Temp at Top; -13 Degrees Base at Uenotaira 115 cm New Snow since close: 10 cm Weather: Snowing! The snow was dumping yesterday. There were fresh tracks to be found all day with a good lot of snow accumulating across the whole mountain. All the lifts were open, and there was a brief hour long period of sunshine in the middle of the day. This surprised us all but meant we could all make the most of some of the fresh morning powder. Snow started falling again in the afternoon, this time heavier and fluffier. We were expecting a lot more snow to come overnight but that was downgraded and we ended […]

The snow conditions on piste were great with the snowpack staying soft and fast. The halfpipe was opened yesterday, which quickly became popular. We also turned on the lights on the Nagasaka slope for our first night skiing session, which was great fun and not busy at all. This should be taking place each Saturday. Now, onto today’s exciting forecast! We’ve already received 10cm overnight up top and we’re expecting […]

Nothing beats fresh powder under blue skies
Base at top: 135 cm Temp at Top; -10 Degrees Base at Uenotaira 105 cm New Snow since close: 3 cm Weather; Heavy snow Yesterday we saw one of the best days out on the slopes this season. After receiving a dump of 35cm in time for the opening of the lifts, there was some great powder to be found. The sun started to make an appearance by about 10am and stayed out for the whole day. A few runs were opened, a favourite amongst all being Skyline. Snow is falling heavily in Nozawa Onsen at the moment; It should continue throughout the day to keep the groomers refreshed. Who’s keen for fresh tracks?!
Base at top: 125 cm Temp at Top; -9 Degrees Base at Uenotaira 100 cm New Snow since close: 30 cm Weather; light snow Yesterday was unusually stormy. There was thunder and lightning in the early hours with heavy snowfall throughout the day. The snow wasn’t our usual fluffy Japanese powder, though once the strong winds ceased, the snow continued to dump in its typical light, fluffy form. We’re now sitting on a base of 125cm, with 30cm of fresh in the past 24 hours. The mountain was closed above Uenotaira Station due to winds being too high, so everything up the top will be untouched for us today! The snow is still falling lightly and is […]
