Base up top: 160 cm        Temp Top;  – 3 Degrees Base at bottom; 70 cm New Snow since close: 35 cm Weather; Cloudy After the ‘magic foot’ two nights we got hit with a ‘phantom foot’ last night with Mother Nature depositing another 30cm of the white fluffy stuff on our doorstep. It was a bit unexpected we went in for dinner and came out and the car was under 20cm of fresh snow. It snowed for most of the day yesterday and eased into the night, and then we woke up to blue skies and fresh snow on the courses this morning. Yesterday was an amazing day with the fresh foot of snow there was some great riding to be had on and off piste. There were some big powder stories around the fireplace last night. Base up top: 105 cm        Temp Top;  -4 Degrees Base at bottom; 30 cm New Snow since close: 0 cm Weather; Light Snow Bit of a climate change in Nozawa today, with cloud blanketing the mountains. It is doing it’s best to snow in the village with temps hovering just above 0 degrees. On the cams it appears to be dropping flakes up top, which would expect with the 1000m vertical elevation difference from town. Has meant some nice sunny fun days to enjoy and given everyone in town a bit of a chance to get more set up before the battle with the snow begins. No major dumps like the previous few days but some constant light falls topping things up and keeping it fresh. Some beautiful sun filtering thru at times too. The powder hounds were well fed with waist deep powder blanketing most of the resort. Still only the top of the resort open but with the amount of snow that has fallen over the last few days it is no problem going top to bottom but probably-y wont open for a while yet. The Game changer in Nozawa. Powder Season has arrived! Base up top: 150 cm        Temperature; -10 Degrees Base at bottom; 55 cm New Snow: 60 cm               Weather; Dumping Most years we have a system that rolls thru and changes the landscape pretty quickly. We get a lot of snow in a short period of time, which usually sets us up for the season and means the start of the powder season. Base up top: 85 cm Temperature: – 5 Degrees Base at bottom: 30 cm New Snow: 0 cm Weather: Snowing After some beautiful sunny days in Nozawa with clear skies and nice conditions on the slopes, Mother Nature has opened the heavens and the snow is falling pretty hard with a lot more to come. Top lifts are all open and the resort is open down to Uenotaira with the long beginner run in action this weekend too The forecast is showing snow for the next 4 days and over 1 meter of the white fluffy stuff on order!

Welcome back to Nozawa Tomorrow is the day! Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort opens its lifts and grooms the runs. With a 60cm base up top and some good dumps on the way things are looking good! The Nagasaka Gondola and the top two Yamabiko lifts will be open! As well as all the Yamabiko courses so a good size area to ride. Lift Tickets are discounted to; Adults 3000 Yen a day Kids 1500 Yen a day Seniors 2000 Yen a day The Restaurant will also be open at the top and imagine a few at the bottom may too. Many repeat guests have booked in again for the coming ski season in Nozawa Onsen. Lots are frequent visitors and some have stayed with us for as many as 6 times! We are very grateful for your patronage and friendship.  It means a lot to us all and everyone in Nozawa. As winter draws closer we look forward to dusting off the one piece and taking care of you again this season. Lots of the familiar friendly staff will be back again too to greet you.
