Heavy snow in the morning eased off a bit before lunch time only to continue strong in the afternoon. Skiers and Snowboarders were plowing their paths through knee deep powder. Fresh powder once again in Nozawa

Hard to believe after the warm spring temperatures yesterday afternoon. Was bucketing this morning and we got more than five centimeters of fresh snow down here in the village in under one hour. It is still snowing lightly out the window right now, so looks like another good powder day up top. Yesterday was a day like in a picture book here in Nozawa. You could see many smiling faces all over the ski resort with knee deep powder even on some groomers. Heavy fall of snow in the morning gave way to a cloudless blue sky in the afternoon. Fantastic views from Yamabiko and Uenotaira. On top the temperatures remained cold through out the day and guaranteed wonderful snow conditions. Today blue sky as far as you can see in Nozawa. What a suprise with over 20cm of fresh snow overnight. It was heavy snowing all morning and even down in the village big snow flakes were falling from the sky. Great conditions on and off the piste. With the freezing level up pretty high will be a bit of a tale of two mountains for the next two days with rain down low but snow up higher. Life does not get much better! We stumbled home from the Nakao concert last night and the snow was falling gracefully from the sky. Was beautiful with all the candles in the snow and the sake buzz added to the affect! Woke up to a decent driveway clear and over boot deep powder on the slopes with zero crowds.
