The clouds soon cleared and now we have had some sun making an appearance so it looks like a beautiful day for riding and the groomers will be in fine form to lay down a few carves as they soften up in the sun. Base up top: 190 cm        Temp Top; -4 Degrees Base at bottom; 95 cm New Snow since close: 10 cm Weather; Varied Woke up to snow falling lightly in the Village this morning. Not sure what time it started but we got 10cm out if it up top. Nice change after the rain we got hit with yesterday. The sun is shooting thru now so should shape up to a pretty reasonable day on the slopes. Yesterday the snow was good up top but a bit heavy going on the lower slopes. Base up top: 190 cm        Temp Top; 3 Degrees Base at bottom; 110 cm New Snow since close: 0 cm Weather; Cloudy Has been a pretty warm night in Nozawa, didn’t need to rug up too much heading for the nightly Onsen. Was a beautiful day on the slopes yesterday with the great vistas above the clouds and sunny on the higher slopes. Snow conditions were great up high too but a bit heavy down lower. Pretty cloudy today and looks like they should be snow clouds with the temps dropping. Getting down to 0 degrees at Sea Level by tomorrow night.  We may not see the sun again until next Saturday. Base up top: 200 cm        Temp Top; 3 Degrees Base at bottom; 100 cm New Snow since close: 15 cm Weather; Sunny up top with a cloud layer As expected a bit of a spike in the temperature today with warmer temperatures and sunshine up top.Had another surprise snow fall last night with 15cm gracing the upper slopes. Should make for great conditions up top but a bit heavy going down below. There is a bit of motion about town today with the New Year crowd starting to roll in. Base up top: 210 cm        Temp Top;  – 9 Degrees Base at bottom; 105 cm New Snow since close: 1 cm Weather; Cloudy Hard to come down after the awesome day we experienced in Nozawa yesterday. People were rolling down the mountain with grins from ear to ear and powder falling out of every pocket. Today is a bit overcast and just 1cm of fresh overnight. Should still be great conditions out on the slopes with powder stashes if search a little. The cold temps will probably keep the groomers pretty fast. Base up top: 230 cm        Temp Top;  – 5 Degrees Base at bottom; 120 cm New Snow since close: 35 cm Weather; Bluebird Going to keep it pretty brief today as have an important board meeting to get to! Conditions are perfect. Had another 30cm plus fall on us since about 3pm yesterday and it is a magical Bluebird day in Nozawa. It snowed heavy all day and there was some great powder runs to be had yesterday but it was blizzard like conditions. The wind has dropped now and the skies are blue. Waking up this morning to blizzard like conditions and snow dumping hard from the heavens looks like the shovels will be working hard again this season. If you woke up in Nozawa this morning you would have been pretty happy! With over 75cm of snow falling yesterday then clear skies this morning the scene is set for a perfect Christmas day. Yesterday the snow was relentless just bucketing on us all day and there were many reports of waist deep powder runs on the mountain. Walked home from the Onsen about 11pm last night and could still see the stars. But when we woke up this morning could feel the silence that only a good dump of snow can bring.
