Search Properties Nozawa Onsen Cool Sun filled weekend in Nozawa Have to admit I do love this time of year. Can live comfortably in town without shovelling tonnes of snow, ride your bike, hang your clothes outside to dry and still have some fun on the slopes. The last two days have been really enjoyable spring skiing. The colder temps overnight have kept the slush fast and easy to turn in. I was getting worried last week as it was sticky and the fog was thick. Almost put a storage wax on the skis but the last two days have encouraged me to keep getting up the mountain. The resort even used the snow machines last night to make some […]

Late Season Skiing Japan
Late Season Skiing Japan Snowy Spring Surprise for Nozawa Was busy working about lunch time yesterday and my daughter looked out the window up the mountain during a break in the clouds and said; “ Look Papa it’s White”. We grabbed the skis and headed up. We were greeted by 10cm of fresh snow on the deck up at Yamabiko when we got off the Gondola. It was cold too, had been a while since needed the thermals. Wasn’t the best day of the season by any means with thick fog and a bit grippy in places but the novelty value of late season snow, pretty much all to our selves was worth the admission. Today on the other hand […]
Mid April Ski Japan
Mid April Ski Japan Spring is not just about the skiing in Nozawa Fairly quiet weekend around the village but a few people up on the slopes today. Mid April Ski Japan Skiing at this time of year is sometimes a bit of a bonus. Great time to enjoy the Cherry blossoms around town, take a bike ride or a hike, soak in an Onsen and take your time at your favourite eatery in town. […]
