60cm of Fresh snow to Round out 2020 in Nozawa  Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 31st December 2020  Boom, we are ending the year in style in Nozawa with not one but “Two Magic” feet of fresh snow falling across the resort last night as forecast. The base has jumped up to 240cm almost our peak for last season and we are still in December! It is going to be deep and cold with light powder out there on offer today. Actually rain falling down low but temps set to plummet and should be snowing like crazy in a few hours from now as that Siberian Dream arrives. Best Onsen Bath Japan Warmer day before the next big dump in Nozawa  Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 29th December 2020  Being lured into a false sense of warmth and sunshine today in Nozawa. If the forecast is correct this time tomorrow should see temps almost 15 degrees colder up top and over 50cm of fresh snow falling from the sky. A balmy 5 degrees up top at the moment and plenty of sunshine. Lots of locals taking advantage of the conditions to clear some snow from roofs in preparation of what is to come. Nozawa Onsen Penthouse Views Calm after the Storm in Nozawa   Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 22nd December 2020  Seems strange to be reporting no new snow fall over night and temperatures without a minus sign in front of them. Finally a full bluebird sunny day to enjoy in Nozawa. After the snowy onslaught of the last week it is a welcome sign. Early Season Snow Nozawa Paradise slope turns in Nozawa  A few keen folk hiked up Paradise slope yesterday where there was enough fresh snow to have a slide. Even more up top with the resort reporting 40cm up there. Which was enough for the groomers to get in and consolidate a base up there. Great news, means there will be a platform for any new snow to accumulate on. A few little falls expected every few days going forward and temperatures remaining pretty cold. Will be interesting to see if the resort employs the Snow Making facilities to top things up for opening weekend. This shot from February just gone, not one of our best seasons but we still had some amazing days on the mountain. The long range forecast is for better than average snow fall for the coming season.
