19cm in April! 19cm in April! Despite having a rainy day in town yesterday, up top of the mountain a magical 19cm of accumulated snow had fallen! A more than generous top up to keep our season going right to the end… Today will be shaping up to be a blue bird day out there! Another busy weekend in Nozawa Onsen! Another busy weekend in Nozawa Onsen! Our Monday mornings this time of year feel like the calm after the storm. With two sunny, clear-skied days over the weekend and the opening of the new Yamabiko park, the town and mountain were bustling with crowds! A calmness takes over the town by Monday morning, with most locals resuming there daily routines. There are still plenty of holiday makers here this time of year, squeezing out the most of our winter season fun! Sunny Sunday Bliss Sunny Sunday Bliss It was a beautiful day to be outdoors yesterday! After the overcast spell we’ve had recently it was no surprise to see so many people out and about soaking up the sunshine… Yamabiko park was a crowd favourite, with some excellent riding observed throughout the day. Spring Sunshine and Fun Spring Sunshine and Fun A beautiful sunny day graces Nozawa Onsen today! Yesterday’s unfortunate conditions led to the closure of most lifts due to high winds midday, but today is shaping up to be much better. Despite the challenges, there was some excitement as snowfall was experienced up top at Yamabiko. Yesterday marked the beginning of our official spring skiing operation schedule on the mountain. Magic March Recap Magic March Recap Today we bid farewell to the month that was, it seems appropriate to take a moment to recap on the remarkable March we have had for snow conditions! While it’s not unusual to see a few dumps this time of year, this March was truly exceptional, adding the cherry on top to our 2023/2024 winter season in Nozawa Onsen. This month we reached our peak of 310cm! Smashing it through the 3m mark for the season. Many days we were experiencing fresh tracks at 3pm! The end of March Madness The end of March Madness Happy Easter Sunday to all! Today marks the last day of our March madness! Yesterday treated us to some slushy spring bliss, and today promises similar conditions. Unfortunately due to low visibility Yamabiko a, b, c, d and e will be suspended… This blanket of fog may lift later in the day so watch this space!
