Trail Running Weekend Nozawa Trail Running Weekend in Nozawa  In just over two weeks time the hills surrounding the quaint village of Nozawa Onsen will come to life with the chatter of runners taking to the streets and mountains for The 4100D Trail Race. How many Ski Lifts Nozawa Flashback Friday and the Hikage Gondola  The Hikage Gondola is actually still fully in operation but it has been going for a few decades now. The gondola shot is from back in 2011 and the ski patrol shot from 1992. Hikage actually means shadow cast by the sun and the Hikage Gondola does sometimes live in the shadow of its big brother the Nagasaka Gondola. Search Properties Nozawa Onsen Cool Sun filled weekend in Nozawa  Have to admit I do love this time of year. Can live comfortably in town without shovelling tonnes of snow, ride your bike, hang your clothes outside to dry and still have some fun on the slopes. The last two days have been really enjoyable spring skiing. The colder temps overnight have kept the slush fast and easy to turn in.  I was getting worried last week as it was sticky and the fog was thick. Spring Snowfall in Nozawa We’ve been surprised with spring snowfall two days in a row now! After two days of snow and fog, the weather should settle by midday. It is an incredible time of year in Nozawa Onsen to go from the village which is currently covered in bright florals and greenery then up to the mountains which is still a winter wonderland.
