Best Ski March Japan Bluebird Sunday in Nozawa Onsen The sun is just starting to peak over Mt Kenashi this morning and it is shaping up to be a picture perfect day in Nozawa Onsen. We ended up getting 15cm of fresh snow through the day up top at Yamabiko. Given the time of the year it was not the dry powder we are used to but a nice top up all the same. Indoor Activities Nozawa Onsen Saturday Snow for Nozawa 8cm of snow being reported overnight for Yamabiko this morning. Still raining at Village level so suggest you head high early. There is more snow coming! As the clouds roll in from the west there is more snow on the cards for this late evening. For today groomers will be the pick, it’s the perfect time to get some carving practice in on the well groomed piste, and there is still a bit of powder to be had in between the trees. The temperature sitting similar to yesterday with minimal wind today, the chill factor is not far off from the the max at -7. Masayuki and Akane opened their café and skate shop in 2017 in Nozawa Onsen, a small village situated in the Nagano Prefecture. Masa sells all things skateboarding while Akane makes all things delicious. Masa moved to Nozawa in either 2011 or 2012, he can’t quite remember, after living in Vancouver for three years. After three days of consistent snowfall, Friday is shaping up to be a glorious day on the slopes. With the base sitting at just over 3 meters, the mountain has a lot to offer. Sunday Pancakes Nozawa Onsen Waking up to a snowy Sunday morning here in Nozawa. Not a huge dump but enough to freshen everything up and fat flakes still falling outside my window right now. The sun is supposed to make an appearance later today as the snow fall eases. Another week comes to an end in Nozawa Onsen, we’ve had some EPIC powder days and some glorious sunny bluebird days.
