Book Now Ski Japan Sunday Snow Show in Nozawa  Waking up to some serious saucer size flakes in the village this morning. A little unexpected which always makes it that much more exciting. Went down for my morning onsen and it was snowing lightly, came out and the flakes had grown considerably. The flakes were nice and light and it is a chilly -5 degrees up top this morning. A quick check of the web cams and the trees up at Yamabiko are doing their winter thing. This fresh snow on top of yesterdays snowfall will make for a great winters day up on the slopes. Cherry Blossoms Nozawa 2020 Sayonarra Sun and Hello Snow After another beautiful sunny spring day yesterday the snow gods have decided it is their turn today in Nozawa. Just snowing lightly up top at the moment but should go all day. Almost no winds and not many people around should make for some fun on the slopes. The snow should continue for the next 24 hours before a sunny Sunday tomorrow. Snow Forecast Nozawa Onsen Incoming snow expected for Nozawa Wow the numbers are starting  to stack up for snow fall for the rest of March in Nozawa. Don’t like to count my snowflakes before they fall but if the forecast plays out best we don’t put away the shovels or powder planks just yet. March Skiing Nozawa Onsen A bit of magic dust up top for Nozawa A dusting of fresh snow has fallen across the resort last night and even a little in town. Things looking beautiful up top with the trees frosted over and a bit of fresh snow on the runs. The sun has just come out and skies should clear for a beautiful day ahead. Snow ahead for Nozawa  OK the bad news first, we got hit with some rain last night in town and probably up top too. It has affected the very bottom and lower Karasawa slope is looking like it is probably done for the season. The connection chair is still running though so can still ski over to Nagasaka Gondola. The good news is temps are expected to drop into tonight and we should see some snow on the slopes. Currently sitting just above freezing level up there. Ski Japan Nozawa Onsen Blue to grey day in Nozawa Sorry for the late report was a good day to catch up on some office work. Different scene in Nozawa today after such a sun filled day yesterday. It is pretty cloudy up top and some light rain in town. As said a good day to hit the books. Yesterday was a beautiful spring day and warm but was nice up on the slopes. Good conditions early turned to slow going in places once the sun worked its way into the base. It was just in that border between Spring slush and winter snow so got a bit sticky. Eco Lodge Nozawa Onsen Japan Monday Blues in Nozawa  Sitting under a sea of fog in the village at the moment but a quick check of the cams and it is beautiful blue skies up top. As forecast looking like a sunny spring day ahead for Nozawa. The runs are groomed and ready and the views look spectacular. It is already 2 degrees up top and imagine will warm up quickly so should soften up for a day of fun Spring Slush otherwise known as “ Poor Mans Powder”. Weekend Sun Fun Nozawa Saturday Sun and fun in Nozawa  Yesterday was a ripper of a day on the mountain in Nozawa. Fun fact, “Rippa” is actually a Japanese word which means terrific! It certainly was Rippa out there yesterday with gorgeous sunshine all day, great snow conditions and those views! Coming off the Paradise chair and you really felt like you were in Paradise. Was very hard to leave that run as the views across to Myoko and Hiuchi mountains were fantastic and sitting outside the restaurants there in the sun was sublime.  Please feel free top post any photos you took yesterday and let us know how good a day you had. Best Ski Resort Japan An Amazing few days in Nozawa If you have been in Nozawa these last few days you would have to be thinking for a light on season this is pretty good. Sitting on the chair yesterday with a friend from Switzerland he said we get these sort of days about once a month back home. In Nozawa even this season we have still managed to get a day like this almost once a week. We were surrounded by beautiful white frosted trees, with 20cm of fresh snow on the deck and not a lot of people to share it with. March Discount Nozawa Onsen A “Magic March Foot” for Nozawa  Still snowing nicely in Nozawa this morning and has been going all night. Not super heavy but enough to deposit 15cm of fresh on the slopes overnight. That brings the total for this storm to above 30cm or the Magic Foot which is always good to see in March.  Was calming to hear the sound of the shovels stroking the pavement early this morning. This fresh snow will be a great top up for the slopes and it should be an awesome winters day up there.
