Long Weekend Nozawa Onsen – Saturday Sun in Nozawa   The skies were super clear last night when wandering to the Onsen and with the reflection of the full moon on the snow it was really bright.   Waking up to a beautiful sunny day on the slopes here. The village is sitting under a light sea of cloud which should clear soon but the top looks stunning this morning. Nozawa Snow Report 10th January 2020 Good morning from Nozawa Onsen. A nice little too up of snow overnight with 10cm falling and a fresh -4 degrees up top. Should make for some fun conditions. Lots of kids about with the local school ski day and overseas kids on holidays. Stay safe and have a great day. Nozawa Onsen Uncrowded Runs     Another day of uncrowded slopes here in Nozawa Onsen yesterday! Despite warm and wet conditions in town we were again treated to wide open runs on perfect corduroy.  Temperature up top: -2 degrees New snow since close: 1cm Base at top: 100cm Snow conditions: Compacted snow Weather: Cloudy  Thankfully the warmer temperatures eased up in the afternoon and we received a light dusting of snow overnight. Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 8th January 2020 Nozawa Onsen Empty Slopes You should have been here yesterday! We got hit with an unexpected gift from the Snow Gods – huge fluffy flakes of snow lofting from the sky all afternoon. It was snowing a little bit in town, but more importantly it was snowing heavily on the mountain. This should still make for nice conditions up top despite the warmer temps hitting us today. Groom Runs Nozawa Onsen Cruising the Corduroy in Nozawa  Fresh start to the morning in Nozawa with temps hovering around freezing in town and -5 degrees up on the mountain.  Looks nice up top on the cams this morning https://nozawa-onsen.com/nozawa-webcams/ The web cams look like we may have got a dusting up top overnight but nothing fell in the village. Winter Feel Nozawa Onsen   Definitely felt like full blown winter in Nozawa yesterday with snow falling all day and temps in the village down to -5 degrees, even cooler up top. There was also full winter type powder conditions on the mountain and the seasoned campaigners were having a ball. Today is more of the same with the resort reporting another 20cm of fresh up top overnight. More runs have also opened up with Skyline starting yesterday So now a few good options to ski top to bottom in Nozawa with most of the resort now open. Big Dump Overnight Nozawa We got even more snow than expected overnight in Nozawa Onsen.  The official report is for 35cm of fresh up top but looking out the window it feels like we got almost that in the village.  Has been a while since I have been woken by the roar of the snow blowers but it was a welcome alarm this morning! Magic Foot Nozawa Onsen More than the “Magic Foot” overnight for Nozawa  It started snowing yesterday evening and kept going all night giving us a beautiful 35cm of fresh snow up top today.  Temp at the top;-6 degrees New snow since close; 35cm Base at the top; 105 cm Snow conditions; Fresh powder Weather; Cloudy with light snow Was a bit warm early down low so a lot less recoded here but nice and cold now and still snowing. Should continue through the day getting lighter before another good dump tonight. Lots of people around to enjoy the great conditions for the weekend but should start to empty out from tomorrow afternoon.  Stay safe and have a great day.

Good powder at the top of the mountain yesterday with slightly warmer conditions below, still made for a good ski day especially with the big flakes of snow falling.
