Super Siberian Snow Storm to round out the Year in Nozawa
A huge night of snow fall in Nozawa. Waking up to Mother Nature flexing her muscles with another “Magnificent Meter” of snow falling since yesterday afternoon. The resort reporting 85cm overnight and there was 20cm yesterday afternoon. The base up top at Yamabiko has sky rocketed to 250cm! How are your predictions for the season looking?
A frosty -10 degrees up top and the snow is still dumping like crazy. If you can find somewhere to ride this tidal wave of snow it is going to be insane. The forecast is for heavy snow to continue all day too! Town is busy with all the New Years crowd arriving so please be very careful on the roads. If coming up strongly suggest leaving the car at home and taking the train and bus. The road clearers are working hard but it will be tough to stay in front of this one. If leave your car a few more days you may not see it again until Spring 🙂
If you are in town it is going to be pretty amazing to experience so much snow. The fireworks are set to take place tonight on Nagasaka Slope with countdown and night skiing. The Shrine will also be busy with people heading up to ring in the New Year. For all of you who could not be here we are going to miss you but hope to see you next year. Bookings are open and filling fast so contact team@nozawaholidays.com to book.
