SATURDAY FUN NOZAWA ONSEN
Lantern Festival Tonight on the Hikage slopes
Yesterday was glorious! The sun was out and the new snowfall left in between the trees the perfect place to explore! After all that new snow the groomers were working hard and today is shaping up to be another awesome day for shredding the groomed runs. With partial clear skies, carving is on the cards.
There will be cloud cover today with the sun showing its face occasionally throughout the day. Winds are light and variable from the NW for majority of the day, strongest in the morning and easing in the afternoon. Temps on top of the mountain are in the negatives, steady at -5, and wind chill is expected to sit around -11. Even with cloud cover, visibility shouldn’t be hindered. We may even see some light snow this evening.
Don’t forget the lantern festival is on tonight, head to the Hikage slope at 7 to catch the start of the festivities. Take the Yu Road to get up there and snag some free sake or ice cream. With the weekend upon us, it’s the perfect time of the week to head out for dinner and a drink. We’ve got some great options for food here in Nozawa, so check out our guide to help you make your pick; https://www.nozawaholidays.com/restaurants-bars/
