Above the clouds in Nozawa
Sitting under the “ Un Kai” or Sea of cloud here in the village but up a a few hundred meters the sun is out and it is shaping up to be a glorious Boxing Day on the slopes in Nozawa. Yesterday was a beautiful Christmas Day on the slopes with lots of families enjoying the views and white crystal trees lining the runs. The sun was out early but the clouds pushed in later and snow began to fall lightly.

Looks like we can expect a North West wind change this evening and with it a drop in temps and a decent snow fall. About 17cm expected at this stage overnight and into tomorrow. It will be pretty cold tomorrow too ahead of sunshine for most of the rest of the week. A few little top ups here and there but mostly clear skies. The good news is I am liking what we see in the long term with a major system forming from the 4th of January. Currently set to snow heavy for a few days and super cold temps. Anyway will have to wait and see what sort of a package we receive from Siberia.
