Another busy weekend in Nozawa Onsen!
Another busy weekend in Nozawa Onsen!
Our Monday mornings this time of year feel like the calm after the storm. With two sunny, clear-skied days over the weekend and the opening of the new Yamabiko park, the town and mountain were bustling with crowds! A calmness takes over the town by Monday morning, with most locals resuming there daily routines. There are still plenty of holiday makers here this time of year, squeezing out the most of our winter season fun! It’s no surprise for us seeing these crowds, as Nozawa Onsen remains one of the last resorts open in the area this time of year… Some new changes to be expected on the mountain today include the suspension of uenotaira and paradise lifts. Yamabiko A will also have restricted access only for intermediate riders this week due to the FIS Nozawa Onsen Cup from 8th-11th April.

Snow report ❄️
Looks like we’re in for an interesting snow update tonight! The forecast is calling for a few centimeters of snow up top at Yamabiko. Should be clear with periods of cloud cover throughout today with warm temperatures across the mountain levels again. Then rain is set to arrive sometime in the afternoon, light intially, then heavy at times into the night, with a chance up top for snow. Into Tuesday looks to be cold below 0 conditions, slightly warmer down the mountain with moderate northerly winds. Wednesday a slight increase in temps with the bluebird sunshine returning and light winds. Later in the week expect periods of cloud and sunshine with temps coming back up around 4-7 degrees. Stay safe as always.
