A gentle mist blanketed the village early this morning, but up on the mountain, the skies have cleared, promising stunning visibility and perfect conditions for a day on the slopes. After yesterday’s midday snowstorm, today is shaping up to be a real treat. Even better news—the ski resort will now open at 8 AM (30 minutes earlier than usual) from today, December 30th, through January 3rd, giving you more time to enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Looking at the forecast for Nozawa Onsen, conditions on the mountain are looking fantastic for the coming days! ❄️ With a 270cm base at the top, the snowpack is being well-preserved thanks to consistently freezing temperatures, dropping as low as -23°C midweek at Yamabiko height during the night. The skies will bring a mix of weather, with heavy snowfall expected on December 31st and light snow showers continuing through the New Year. From January 4th onwards, another round of heavy to moderate snow will refresh the slopes.
Overall, this combination of fresh snow and freezing temperatures promises excellent skiing and boarding conditions, particularly on the upper slopes. Be sure to plan ahead and enjoy the winter wonderland! ⛷️❄️
