🗺️🏔️ Discover the Best of Nozawa Onsen ⛷️❄️
When you come to Nozawa Onsen for skiing or snowboarding, you’re in for a real treat. With 46 runs listed on the Resort Map, Nozawa’s Ski Resort caters to all levels, from absolute beginners to seasoned pros. Whether you’re carving down perfectly groomed slopes or floating through fresh powder, the variety of terrain never disappoints. First-time visitors will find easy access to beginner-friendly areas, while advanced riders can enjoy steeper, more challenging runs. There’s something here for everyone!
For those chasing powder or just a scenic view, the Yamabiko area is a must. When you step off the Nagasaka Gondola, you’ll be greeted by a winter wonderland with snow-covered trees and breathtaking views. The ABC courses, popular among intermediate skiers, offer sweeping runs and even some tree skiing, officially allowed here. It feels like a resort within a resort, combining stunning landscapes with great riding conditions.
Another favorite is Paradise slope. After mastering the gentler Uenotaira slope, Paradise offers a smooth transition for beginners wanting to step up their game. Its wide expanse allows for easy linking of turns, and there are plenty of great places to stop and eat, including the beloved Buna café. From the bottom of Paradise, you’ll have several options: ride the lift back up, take a scenic forest trail, or head straight into steeper terrain for a real challenge. Adventurous skiers can even tackle the infamous 39 Degrees or Schneider slopes, perfect for mogul lovers!
