Last Days of Spring Skiing
Last Days of Spring Skiing
Today’s thick fog on the mountain didn’t stop anyone from enjoying the last days of Spring slush! Despite the poor visibility on the slopes and a chill that visited Nozawa this morning the freshly groomed runs made the trip up the mountain worth a while. Yesterday’s condition of the snow was excellent for carving down the Yamabiko slopes similar to what we’re seeing this morning. Conditions however might change quickly turning the snow wet and slushy with temps on the rise from Thursday night. Clear skies predicted from tomorrow morning until the weekend should give us with some stunning views to admire from the top of the mountain.
This Saturday and Sunday Nozawa Onsen village is prepping a real treat for the early birds keen to try out some local specialities. From 6-7AM on Oyu Street near the Oyu Hot Spring Onsen a market will be open with local cafes, bars and restaurants selling their finest coffee, pastries, cakes, local crafts, pickles and more. See you there!

Snow report ❄️
Last couple of days have welcomed us with very humid conditions up top with thick mist running through the mountain this morning. Due to a bit of a freeze from last night and thanks our hardworking groomers the snow condition up top is ideal for carving down the slopes. A warm front is heading towards Nozawa with skies clearing from tomorrow and should remain sunny until the weekend providing us with great visibility. The snow is holding up nice with 95cm base at Yamabiko which should be more than enough to let us embrace and enjoy the last days of skiing and snowboarding for this Spring season. As always, stay safe and enjoy the snow while it lasts!
