Getting connected in Nozawa
Cloudy start to the day here but some good news. The resort is opening some of the bottom lifts to help with the increasing number of guests. The Nagasaka Connector from Karasawa and the Nagasaka and Hikage triples will all open this morning and the cat tracks that join them. Will just make it easier for people to move between the 3 bases and access accommodation and car parks without needing the bus. Will also mean beginners have a few more options. There is a rumour the Beginner Forest trail will open over New Years so that guests can ski top to bottom too. Fingers crossed as would be a game changer and eliminate the need to download on the Gondola.
Yesterday was a glorious day on the slopes with beautiful blue skies and good quality snow under foot. The runs were fast and fun and despite the crowds everyone had a great day. Without the ability to ski all the way down the bottom of chairs are becoming bottle necks and the lines are long. They are moving but please do your bit and try and fill each and every chair. All these shots from yesterday’s glory.

☃️ SNOW FORECAST:
Tomorrow Saturday looks like a sunny warmer day ahead of a cool change and snow expected Sunday Night. We could see up to 20cm fall up top which would be a good top up on the runs. Temps are jumping up and down over the week ahead, would normally like to see them flat lining and super cold this time of year so hoping that cold Siberian Switch will arrive soon. The end of the 12 day is looking like it may come but too far of to have any reliability yet. Be patient out there and enjoy the slopes, food and catching up with friends new and old in Nozawa.
