It was a “Good Friday” yesterday here in Nozawa Onsen… The morning had started off with a bit of rainfall in town before a sea of fog settled over the mountain top limiting visibility at times. The occasional spring sunshine peaking through as the day went on helped keep the snow quality a fun slush throughout the day. These conditions were ideal for learning, whether it was mastering new tricks or giving snowboarding, skiing, or snow biking (see first pic) a try for the first time! We’ve seen a lot of people out and about this weekend, today marks another day of the snowboard masters competition! Today should be a spectacle to watch up at Yamabiko B with better visibility in store… if you’re interested in watching some world class snowboarding check out the link below for more information on the competition! Snow report ❄️
Light to moderate westerly winds expected today with period of cloud and sunshine throughout the day. Looking like a beautiful day on the mountain being super comfortable all over. Temperatures to be mild and warm all day, warmer to the base of the mountain. Cooler temps expected for tomorrow with mostly overcast and light winds. Early next week sees much cooler temperatures with moderate north westerly winds keeping snow quality high. Warmer weather and clear skies to set in middle to late next week, with consistent westerly winds light to moderate. Stay safe and enjoy a beautiful day.
