Another beautiful day in Nozawa Onsen after some March Magic on the slopes yesterday with the little tops up of fresh snow. The sun is shining and the slopes have been freshly groomed, with light winds and no crowds it is looking like a beauty. With all this sun and spring like warm weather, the slopes have been fast and fun, perfect for practicing your turns and hitting the park.
Today we are in for clear skies and glorious sunshine. Temperatures are cool this morning sitting at 0 degrees in town but will warm up as the sun hits the mountains with a max of 5 degrees on top of the mountain and a max of 14 degrees in town. Groomers will be best first thing this morning with the tracks expected to soften up throughout the day. Visibility should be awesome with clear skies and views in all directions.
The best addition to your holiday in Nozawa Onsen is a snow monkey tour. The snow monkeys have found comfort in the warmth of the hot springs in the Joshinetsu Kogen National Park and are a very cute part of Nagano. Only a short bus trip away, the walk to the hot springs is through a set of beautiful trees and along a snowy path. The snow monkeys bathe in the hot springs, unfazed by the onlookers, picking away at each others hair and relaxing. FORECAST:
The forecast is showing that cloud cover will roll over Nozawa tonight and hang around for the next few days along with it bringing light snow showers and patchy rain showers in town. Winds will be light to moderate from the West. Temperatures will be falling back into the negatives for the next three days while this cold front holds over Nozawa. The front is set to pass late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. Then lots more glorious sunshine on order for next week.
