Embrace the unexpected in Nozawa Onsen! Yesterday’s sudden strong winds had led to the suspension of upper lifts and gondolas, with lower lifts remaining open for adventuring. There was still some quality snowfall experienced in the morning followed by some rain in town and a light dusting up top. Nozawa Onsen has woken up to a layer of fog blanketing the town this morning. But don’t be fooled, up top there’s sunshine peeking through intermittent cloud coverage. Expect some light westerly winds today, which should help bring more sunshine amidst the intermittent cloud coverage. Conditions are looking favourable for a smooth and enjoyable day on the slopes, so get out there, soak up the sunshine and have fun!

Warmer weather to arrive today as spring conditions take hold. Some clouds around throughout the day with intermittent sunshine and light winds from the west. Temps around 3-5 degrees up top and higher at the bottom lifts and in town. Monday sees continued warmer temperatures with light rain in town all day and light snow up top increasing into the night. Tuesday sees similar however moderate snow up top but expecting heavier rain in town, again light winds variable direction. Wednesday looking clear all day with expected beautiful skies with rain returning Thursday with a southerly change.
