Swimming Nozawa Onsen Japan
Take a cool dip in Nozawa
Funny that more often than not you are looking for a warm tub in Nozawa with all the amazing Onsens and that piping hot mineral water that is offered up from the ground. A perfect way to warm up on a cold winters day after a sliding the slopes. For everyone that comes in Winter you would be surprised a place like Nozawa that gets so much snow in Winter can get very hot in Summer.
The good news is there are a few cool options to take a swim when the mercury begins to rise like now.
– Head pool side to the outdoor pool at Sparena – looks different in Summer! Open from July 8th to August 27th. From 9am to 8pm
– Can take a plunge in many of the mountain streams where the water is still refreshing
– Shoot up the top in the Gondola as is always about 8 degrees cooler there. From July 1st till October 29th 2023. From 9am to 4pm
– Ride or walk to one of the many lakes around us for a swim or Sup paddle
-Take a drive down the coast for a surf in the brine of the Japan Sea
The Onsen then cold water dip not a bad option, also the Cosmic Sauna down at Hokuryuku Lake. A healthy way to spend the day. It stays pretty warm in Nozawa until mid to late September then like Japanese trains Autumn arrives on time and things start to cool down. Hope to see you to experience the warmer months.
