TERRAIN PARK NOZAWA ONSEN
Another bluebird!
Get those dark lenses out and some sunscreen on. With the clouds clearing first thing this morning, we are set for another bluebird day. Yesterday was a gorgeous day on the hill and the snow was terrific under foot on top of the mountain. Up at Yamabiko the temps remained cool keeping the snow in great condition. Down lower it did get slushy as the day went on. Sunshine and no lift lines made for a great day.
Winds are light and variable from the W for majority of the day. Temperatures on top of the mountain are balmy, sitting in the positives. The light winds this morning are chopping the wind chill into the negatives for the first half of the day then will sit relative to the temperature in the afternoon. Visibility on the slopes will be sublime with views of the Nagano prefecture to be had and possibly the Sea of Japan from the top of Yamabiko.
These conditions are perfect for hitting the terrain park, the unclouded visibility making it easy to spot all the jumps and with little crowds, you’re bound to be able to hit the kickers without many people getting in your way. It’s the time of the season when you try that trick you’ve been talking yourself up to doing. Watch some how to videos at brekkie and head up first thing to show off some new skills. FORECAST:
The forecast is showing clear skies for the next two days, on Thursday afternoon we will see the return of the clouds. With light showers predicted for Friday, with only 5mm predicted to fall, both on top of the mountain and in the village. Set to see a max of 6 degrees on top of the mountain both Wednesday and Thursday with temps a little cooler on Friday. Winds are staying light and variable from the SW, driving the Okinawa winds up, hence the warmer temperatures.
We may be in for a surprise super dump next Monday. It is still a fair way off so can change but stay tuned!
Have an awesome day on the slopes and at the slope side restaurants for lunch in the sun.
